Classic Balboa Park {San Diego Family Photography}

This beautiful family is on their way out of San Diego to move to Michigan! So what better place to capture their final family pictures than in Balboa Park! The architecture, colors, flowers, etc. are just captivating and a perfect location for many shoots in a small area. Little Landon was also one of my newborn shoots and was nearly one when these pictures were taken. It was a privilege to capture their last family photos in sunny San Diego! Say yes Michigan! (only Michiganders will understand…)

Gorgeous Maternity {San Diego, CA Family Photography}

I don’t seem to get many maternity opportunities but it seems that lately there are quite a few woman letting me shoot their gorgeous bellies! I’m loving the beauty and glow of a pregnant woman! Niki is absolutely the most amazingly beautiful pregnant woman! She is that woman we all wanted to look like while pregnant! She has four beautiful boys and was finally pregnant with her first little girl. And of course, when in San Diego I have to shoot at my favorite Harry Griffin Park! :) ImageImageImageImageImage

A Family of Three {Littleton, Colorado Family Photography}

I had the joy of finding a great MOPS group here in Aurora, CO and at that group, a wonderful table of ladies. My table leader was a wonderful connection for me since moving here. She’s checked up on me and invited many to many playdates! So I was so excited when she allowed me to photograph her sweet little family for the first time. The weather was supposed to be gorgeous that day, but low and behold…Colorado weather went crazy and a huge wind picked up for almost the entire shoot! They were super patient though and all in all we got some lovely shots. Their sweet little boy loved the fire engine I brought and I’m so glad I finally got to use it! Apart from the vast amount of goose dung I walked in, I loved the little lake and pine trees…something sorely missing in San Diego! :)

A Family of Love {Denver Family Photography}

This lovely family is one of my first clients here in Colorado. The mom even went to my husband’s college back in Grand Rapids, MI. Small world!

I was so excited to get to shoot downtown Denver, Colorado, with some beautiful scenery and San Diegan-ish pillars! Think Balboa Park. Normally I’m not know as a prop photographer, but when I was packing up my gear to go, I saw the lovely “Love” Sign on my mantle…So I threw it in my car for some inspiration. I have also loved the beautiful empty frame that i secured from a ‘women’s craft’ night. I loathed my craft so much that involved the frame…so I undid it all and saved the beautiful frame. :) I hope you enjoy my attempt at a little ‘prop’ work!

Freezing Family Photos {Denver Family Photography}

I’m definitely not used to the cold in Colorado yet. And I was put to the test by shooting my first ever family in Denver, in 25 degree temperatures! I was actually shocked any of the pictures came out clearly since I was shaking and snotting like a crazy woman! And the poor family! They were absolutely amazing though and handled the cold in stride! Two boys and two girls and tons and tons of fun. I really enjoyed the enthusiasm in this family and the joy they shared in just being together! Maybe I will be able to handle these Denver winters after all!

God gains an Angel…

I’m reminded tonight the importance of photography. The significance, the lasting impact, the treasures….Right before Thanksgiving I took pictures of a friend’s family. It was a beautiful shoot in Balboa Park and they turned out great (even if I do say so myself. :) ). A few weeks later they found cancer in her liver…then her lungs…and her bones…The pictures I took…the last ones to remember a happier time. The pictures her kids will remember their mother by…her husband will remember by… It was God’s provision to have those pictures taken when we did. I moved to Colorado two weeks later. And then tonight…this dear lady, a fighter, mother, daughter, and wife went to be with the Lord. I know her pain is gone…but those left behind are hurting…Please join me and praying for their family and remembering a strong, amazing woman!

I LOVE BABIES!!! {Children and Family Photography, Cherry Creek CO}

There were a few managers who moved to colorado from california when my husband did. One family also has three children and one of which is a four week old little chubbers. He’s so stinkin’ cute I can barely stand it! They came over for a play date the other day and I got the privilege of taking a few pictures of the little guy! Seriously, he’s little cheeks were edible!

Messing around in Colorado {Children and Family Photography, Denver CO}

Since moving to Colorado it’s been a lonely one! But slowly I’ve started hanging out with a few people through friends of friends in california! So I thought I’d post a few pics of some of the kids of these new friends…Just messing around so nothing too serious!They were such little posers though! I can’t wait to do a real session with the little girls!

Senior Portraits {Denver Children and Family Photography, Denver, CO}

I have to admit that I don’t generally get to shoot seniors.  I adore children and families, but there is such a beauty in seniors. Anna needed head shots taken for auditions into theater programs and various colleges…however, she hadn’t had the chance to get senior picures done yet, so we through in a few fun shots too.  And a big congrats on her already getting accepted into a few programs!
